Meeting with the Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine…

An official meeting of the Kalinouski Regiment with the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphany took place.

The meeting was attended by Vadim Kabanchuk, deputy commander of the Kalinouski Regiment, Pavel "Dziadzka" Shurmey, a Kalinouski Regiment soldier, Dmitry Shchigelsky, a representative of the Kalinouski Regiment, and Bohdan Yaromenko, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, a representative from the "Sluga Naroda" in the faction of the "Democratic Belarus".

In the residence of the first head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, in the Mykhailo Golden-Top Cathedral, the following issues were discussed:

• Ukraine's experience in creating an autocephalous church and moving away from the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church.

– The role of this process in the country's identity, freedom, democracy, defense and cultural sovereignty. The relevance of all these problems for Belarus today and in the future.

• The issue of violation of the rights of believers and freedom of conscience in Belarus was raised.

The Kalinouski Regiment expressed a firm and principled position on the unconditional preservation of all the rights of believers and the creation of conditions for the realization of freedom of conscience in Belarus after the overthrow of the Lukashenka dictatorship.

Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine told the path of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Ukrainian society to receive thomas.

He thanked the Kalinouski Regiment for help in defending Kiev and repelling Russian aggression. Epiphaniy expressed confidence that Belarus and its people will gain independence, religious freedom, and the opportunity to defend their rights and freedoms.

They agreed to continue cooperation.

Consultations are being held on the possibility of training Belarusian priests in educational institutions of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
