Farewell to Maria Zaitseva

A farewell ceremony was held in Kyiv today for Maria Zaitseva, a Belarusian fighter who died in the fighting near Pokrovsk. She served in the Second International Legion of Defense of Ukraine, fighting against Russian aggression.

Maria was an active participant in the protests in 2020. On August 9, in Minsk, near the stele, she was injured by a stun grenade. After several operations in Belarus, she went to the Czech Republic for treatment. With the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine, Maria joined the Ukrainian military. On January 16, the day before her tragic death, Maria celebrated her 24th birthday.

Maria is a true hero. Her memory will forever remain in the history of free Belarus!
