Birthday of Kastus Kalinouski

Today, February 2, we honor the memory of Kastus Kalinouski, the hero of Belarus who fought for the freedom of our country. He led the uprising of 1863–1864 against the Russian Empire. Kalinouski wanted Belarus to be free and independent. We want the same.

His dream – a free Belarus – continues to inspire new heroes. The Kastus Kalinouski Regiment, a military unit named after him, continues his work today, fighting for the freedom and independence of Belarus.
